Riding the same train,
The first hint of interest,
Unexpected kiss.
Rocky beginning,
Caught with the love manual,
Watching from the wings.
Explaining away;
Meeting the little sister;
Using her first name.
Awkward roof embrace,
Displaying his impatience,
The training begins.
Errant thoughts leading
To poolside wandering hands
And half-meant protests.
Lemonade versus
Obvious disinterest,
His breath on her skin.
Making excuses,
Lies unraveling like yarn;
Damning evidence.
Blocked by the class rep,
The power of the thigh-highs,
A secret revealed.
The play is the thing,
What diseases on those sheets?
The child sees clearly.
Sham relationship,
Taking her out with the trash,
Illusion made true.
Alone on the bench;
Alone with her memories;
Chance snowy meeting.
Callous disregard
And purely selfish instincts:
Fatal encounters.
